Sci-fi Wire reports that Peter Berg has mentioned the possible return of Hancock, a move that makes a lot of sense financially ($150 million outlay, $650 million return) but very little logically. As we all know, the end of Hancock revealed that Mr Smith’s character was, in fact, a God, as was Charlize Theron’s, but being near her rendered him vulnerable.

What’s more, them being together seemed to spell the end of the whole ‘being a God’ thing, but Berg is suggesting the possibility of another God getting involved and the sequel spinning off that idea. “[The studio would] like to fast-track it, but Will’s busy, I’m pretty busy,” Berg told Sci-Fi Wire. “We’re excited to do one, but we want the script to be right and the movie to be right. We don’t feel a burning imperative to go right back into it.”

Which is a bit of a coincidence, as nor do I.
