So whilst first X-Men spin-off, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is deep into production, news on the often mooted X-Men Origins: Magneto has been very quiet, personally I think it’s a very hard story to tell as Magneto is not a hero and doesn’t inspire the same interest as Wolverine does, in fact a full length film solely based around him is a big gamble for any studio. But news has emerged concerning a David Goyer script doing the rounds and reveals a number of plot details, suggesting the film is closer to being made than expected. If Wolverine is a hit, which is highly likely, I think we could expect to see Magneto sometime in 2010/2011, It’s neither been confirmed or denied that Ian Mckellen will return though with his commitments to The Hobbit and its sequel, and the fact that Magneto is set in the earlier years of that characters life its looking unlikely.
